Close Corporation to Company Conversion

All existing Close Corporations are eligible for conversion to a Private Company (PTY Ltd), though this is not mandatory.

When converting, you will retain the existing name of your Close Corporation. However, your registration number will change to the company format, for example: XXXX/XXXXXX/07.

To carry out the conversion, the following documents and information are required:

• A signed Power of Attorney (provided by us)

• Certified ID copies of all members

• The CK documents of the Close Corporation

The process typically takes 2–3 weeks, but delays may occur depending on the CIPC’s workload.
